Inside the home

  • Clear kitchen and bathroom counters, put away laundry and remove loose cables.
  • Make beds, straighten seating and tidy the rooms being photographed.
  • Clean visible floors, mirrors and glass. Keep doorways and walking routes clear.

Light and finishing touches

  • Replace burned-out bulbs where practical and turn on the lights.
  • Open curtains and blinds neatly. Turn off TVs and ceiling fans.
  • Close toilet lids and put everyday toiletries and cleaning supplies away.

Outside

  • Move cars and bins away from the main frontage where practical.
  • Tidy the entrance, patio and yard; put away hoses, toys and tools.
  • Tell us about outdoor features, detached buildings and areas you want included.

Privacy, access and tours

  • Put personal paperwork, valuables and security information out of view.
  • Confirm permission to access every area being photographed or scanned.
  • Secure pets and tell us about tenants, contractors or deliveries.
  • For a tour, prepare the full route between rooms, not just individual camera angles.
